Mar. 20th, 2014 10:56 amAmelie was displeased. She’d called him to her office a few days after he and Claire had gotten back from Dallas in order to read him the riot act. She had heard a rumor or two about the goings on in the Glass House. Apparently, they were all aflutter because Claire had been, allegedly, involved romantically with Myrnin.
He’d refused to deny it, instead, attempting to assure Amelie that she needn’t worry. He would take the utmost care to make certain Claire was safe. Amelie hadn’t been reassured. She was worried about the investment she had in Claire. Although, Myrnin thought there was a tiny part of her that was worried about Claire as a person as well, but he wouldn’t say that to his queen right now. It wasn’t the opportune time.
Once Amelie had finished lecturing him, and expressing her disapproval with the situation, she let Myrnin go, knowing that tell him what to do probably wasn’t the best idea. Myrnin could be guided and suggested to, but ordering him had little to no effect unless Amelie was willing to be extremely serious about it. This was not a point to push and that was obvious.
He returned to his lab and texted Claire (yes he texted and tried to use text speak). He simply wanted to know if she was well. He’d heard that there’d been some difficulty there. He also let her know that she was welcome, of course, to come to the lab if she liked.
