trapdoorspider: (Someone to keep me sane [Claire])
Amelie was displeased. She’d called him to her office a few days after he and Claire had gotten back from Dallas in order to read him the riot act. She had heard a rumor or two about the goings on in the Glass House. Apparently, they were all aflutter because Claire had been, allegedly, involved romantically with Myrnin.

He’d refused to deny it, instead, attempting to assure Amelie that she needn’t worry. He would take the utmost care to make certain Claire was safe. Amelie hadn’t been reassured. She was worried about the investment she had in Claire. Although, Myrnin thought there was a tiny part of her that was worried about Claire as a person as well, but he wouldn’t say that to his queen right now. It wasn’t the opportune time.

Once Amelie had finished lecturing him, and expressing her disapproval with the situation, she let Myrnin go, knowing that tell him what to do probably wasn’t the best idea. Myrnin could be guided and suggested to, but ordering him had little to no effect unless Amelie was willing to be extremely serious about it. This was not a point to push and that was obvious.

He returned to his lab and texted Claire (yes he texted and tried to use text speak). He simply wanted to know if she was well. He’d heard that there’d been some difficulty there. He also let her know that she was welcome, of course, to come to the lab if she liked.
trapdoorspider: (Lost in what I am)
Today is one of Myrnin's good days. He's wearing a pair of khaki cargo shorts, a faded black tee shirt with the words 'bite me' on, a pair of flip flops and a lab coat. He has a pair of goggles on top of his head that are more steam punk than lab safety and he's tinkering with different colored and sized beakers then scribbling in a journal to one side. He pauses, glancing up when he smells and hears Claire approaching. He expected her today, of course, but she's a bit late. No matter, time means very little to Myrnin and he returns to his tinkering. She has a key and knows welle nough how to get into the lab. He'd likely only worry her by meeting her at the door and they've nothing of immediate importance to work on. He did find some journals he'd stashed in a hidey hole in the tunnels. He'd like to work on translating those from his haphazard handwriting and thoughts to something more coherent and clear in Claire's handwriting.
